The Portal Heritage Society hosts several events throughout the year to raise money for preservation efforts.
Turpentine Festival
October 5, 2024
The Turpentine Festival is held annually to celebrate the history of making of turpentine in Portal, GA. The still is one of three operating stills in Georgia. During the festival, residents from Portal and surrounding areas can buy turpentine, turpentine soap, and rosin potatoes.

When schools is out, it's time for the fun to begin. The Portal Heritage Society hosts this event so that the kids in the Portal area will have somewhere close by to have a great time in the summer sun.
Christmas Festival & Toy Giveaway

Christmas time is a wonderful time of year and the Portal Heritage Society tries to make sure all the kids in the community are able to have a nice Christmas. We have a Christmas parade, festival when parents can shop for last minute Christmas gifts, and kids get to take pictures with Santa and get a gift.
Lewis & Clark Circus
April 10-11, 2024
Combining old time circus traditions with modern innovations our show will leave you on the edge of your seat. Our show features world-class aerialists, acrobats, magicians and more under our custom built big top.
